Marvel Brought the Netflix Gang Back to NYCC, and Then Kept Going

Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter and Finn Jones walked onto the Empire Stage together Thursday night at New York Comic Con, and the room reacted the way you'd expect. Marvel Television and Animation brought a lot of news, but nothing topped the Defenders reunion.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 reunites the Defenders
The trio came out to show exclusive footage from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Marvel says it will be the final season, and it arrives in 2027. Mike Colter had a last-minute scheduling conflict and couldn't be there, but his castmates said he sent his regards. For fans who grew up on the original Netflix shows, seeing three of the four Defenders on one stage was a big deal.
The panel itself was moderated by Brandon Davis and led by Brad Winderbaum, who heads Marvel's television, animation, comics and franchise.
VisionQuest gets a surprise early screening
Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Emily Hampshire and showrunner Terry Matalas talked about Vision's next chapter and his tangled history with Ultron, played by Spader. Then came the bonus: attendees got to watch the first episode early. Everyone else can catch VisionQuest on Disney+ starting October 14.
Zodiac is Marvel's next live-action spy thriller
Winderbaum announced Zodiac as a spy thriller and said very little beyond that. He did tell fans who know the comics to look closely at the title design for clues. Filming begins in London in spring 2027, with a Disney+ premiere planned for 2028. Casting is still underway, so expect names to drop over the coming months.
The animation slate is packed
X-Men '97 Season 3
Fans in the room got a first look at Season 3. The footage teased the return of the Brotherhood of Mutants and a Gambit and Rogue wedding. The season arrives in 2027, and a fourth season is already planned. Winderbaum admitted that one episode in particular left him emotional.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2
The new season hits Disney+ on January 13, 2027. Hudson Thames returns as Peter Parker, and the black symbiote suit is in play. Creator Jeff Trammell said Peter has moved past the learning stage of Season 1 and is ready for the job, though he still needs help now and then.
Marvel Zombies becomes a Halloween tradition
Marvel Animation is making three more two-part Marvel Zombies specials. The Winter Soldier arrives at Halloween 2027, The Fist of Khonshu follows in 2028, and The Last Guardian closes things out in 2029. Winderbaum wouldn't say who the Last Guardian is. He did say the team is about halfway through animatics, and he joked about how much gore Disney+ lets them get away with.

Our take
It was one of Marvel's strongest TV panels in a while. There was something for every kind of fan, from the Netflix-era reunion to an animation slate that stretches to 2029. The Defenders moment will get the headlines, but that Gambit and Rogue wedding tease might be what people talk about until X-Men '97 Season 3 arrives.
