Otalku Cafe - Tales of Wedding Rings

Otalku Cafe - Tales of Wedding Rings

The next winter review is the second ecchi anime of the season I watched, and that is Tales of Wedding Rings. The show follows a high school boy named Satou, who’s in love with his childhood friend, Krystal. One day Krystal tells him that she’s moving forever and to never forget her. But when Satou follows her as she’s leaving, we learn she is from another world. Satou ends up following Krystal back to her home world and ends up becoming the new Ring King, aka the savior of the world, from the Abyss King. The catch is that there are 5 rings he must collect from 5 women and make all 5 his wives.

Unlike the first ecchi, Chained Soldier, the animation here is very fluid and bright and sharp, which is nice. That makes for great battles, and even better perv moments with the uncensored tits lol. The musical composition is equal to the other. In principle though, Chained Soldier is ecchi-er by default, as beyond the nudity, there’s nothing too sexual otherwise in this show. Also, the story in Wedding Rings is not nearly as engaging or attractive as in chained soldier. Many points in the show, I asked “wtf are they doing?”

Finally, the characters are all ok, but I don’t have that same connection to the ones in Wedding Rings versus in Chained Soldier as well. That said, the show isn’t the worst I’ve ever seen and I enjoyed it somewhat for what it was worth. I’ll probably watch a season 2 if it drops. In all, I gave it a low 3/5 and the show is available on Crunchyroll if you wish to check it out!
