Otalku Cafe - The Fire Hunter

Hey everyone, this is Ethan from Otalku Cafe and I'll be posting anime reviews from 2024 into 2025 of every anime I've watched! Quick disclaimer, these are my personal opinions on each of the shows that I watch. 

The first anime review is one of the worst ones I’ve consistently watched, and that was season 2 of The Fire Hunter. The show, available on Crunchyroll, picks up where we left off in season one as Touko, Koushi, Akira, and their fire hunter dogs all fight against the gods in search of their salvation from the gods that rule over them. 

The only redeeming quality of both seasons is the soundtrack, which is quite splendid in my opinion. Besides that, the animation is below mid and the story, which surmises to how humans are beholden to fire and the destruction it leaves behind, is VERY, VERY hard to follow. The abundance of characters and how difficult their intertwining stories are made this a super tough watch personally. 

The show doesn’t give you anything to really care about and though there is plenty of blood and moments that should make the viewer feel sad, I felt for most of the season that this watch was a chore, merely something to do to say we completed the series. The finale seems to indicate the series is done and I AM GRATEFUL! I gave this show a mere 2/5 and the series as a whole the same mark. For more anime content, please click the photo below!
